Belgian social security identification number
By means of the Belgian social security identification number a person can be identified throughout the entire Belgian social security network.
The number consists of 11 digits in total. It can, amongst others, be found on the right top hand side of a SIS-card (Social Information System-card). A SIS-card is issued to persons covered by the social insurance system in Belgium. Please note that special characters (e.g. blank spaces, dots or dashes) are not allowed when entering this number.
National number
A national number is a number by which you are identified with the Belgian or another country's government.
Passport number
A passport number is a serial number which is noted on a passport issued by the Belgian or another country's government.
Social Security number
A social security number is issued by the social security institutions of the Belgian or another country's government. It is used to identify you throughout the social security system of the country in question.
Pension number
A pension number is a personal number issued by government institutions responsible for elderly pensions.
Whom do you represent?
Non-Belgian company:
Choose this option if you are affiliated to a non-Belgian company.
Belgian company:
Choose this option if you are affiliated to a Belgian company. Note: you must fall under the "direct authority" of the company.
No company:
Choose this option if you are permanently resident in Belgium and carry out a liberal profession. You are, for example, a bookkeeper, lawyer, general practitioner, architect or physiotherapist.
